You have had an accident. Your vehicle is damaged.  Now you are counting on insurance to help pay for the repairs …

Can I take my car to the repair shop of my choice?

Yes. Your insurance company cannot require you to have your vehicle repaired at a specific repair shop.  Your policy will cover the reasonable cost of repairing your vehicle to its pre-accident condition no matter where you have repairs made.

Hagen’s Auto Body works with all insurance companies to return your vehicle to pre-accident condition.

Am I responsible for obtaining more than one estimate?

Your insurance company may require more than one estimate before settling your claim.  Multiple estimates help insurers determine the extent of your loss and prevent fraudulent claims.  However, your insurance company cannot require unreasonable travel for you to obtain an estimate or for the company to inspect your vehicle.

If you have an initial insurance estimate, Hagen’s Auto Body will begin repairs on your vehicle and, if necessary, work directly with the insurance company on your behalf for any supplemental repair costs due to hidden damage.

Hagen’s Auto Body provides free estimates, Monday thru Friday 7:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.  No appointment is necessary for estimates. Estimates generally take 10 to 15 minutes.

How do I know that my insurance company will treat me fairly?

The insurance company is required to return your vehicle to the condition it was in before it was damaged. Either the company can pay all costs to satisfactorily repair your vehicle, including all obvious and hidden damage, or they may offer cash settlement to pay for the satisfactory repair of your vehicle.

Hagen’s Auto Body repairs vehicles in a quality and skillful manner based on accepted standards set by insurers and repairs facilities. Additionally, Hagen’s Auto Body provides a written, limited lifetime repair guarantee for as long as you own the vehicle.

Can the repair shop I choose change its estimate to absorb the deductible required by my insurance company?

No. You must pay the deductible amount before the insurance company pays any benefits.

Hagen’s Auto Body cannot reduce, discount, or waive the deductible.

How do Minnesota’s No-Fault laws apply?

Many people misunderstand Minnesota’s no-fault law.  No-fault provisions relate only to medical loss, work loss, or loss of essential services and are only available from your own insurance company.  The No-Fault law is NOT related to physical damage to your vehicle.

Do I have the right to a rental car?

If you have purchased rental car coverage, you can file a claim with your own insurance company for reimbursement.  Generally, you are entitled to a vehicle comparable to your own.  However, in the case of certain high-value, high-cost vehicles, you may have to demonstrate your need for a specific replacement vehicle.

If you did not purchase this coverage, or if you do not want to file a claim with your own insurance company and if it is determined that another driver was liable for the accident, you have the right to seek reimbursement from the other driver’s insurance company.

Hagen’s Auto Body rental cars are available through either Enterprise rent-a-car (612-822-3932) or Choice Auto Rental (952-946-1213).  Enterprise or Choice Auto Rental will meet you at Hagen’s Auto Body with your rental vehicle.
